Complaining or praying?

prayer

How much time do you spend complaining?  Well, I know we don’t like calling it that.  How about, “pontificating on what could be improved in certain people and situations?”

Great leaders are often idealists, and many get frustrated when things don’t change fast enough.  Or people don’t “get it” quick enough.  Or they face too much resistance.

How much time do you spend praying?  Most leaders are insanely busy.  Despite the existence of the book, the vast majority haven’t mastered the “four-hour workweek.”  It seems crazy, but we’re often “too busy for prayer.”  Too busy for prayer?  Too busy to turn your problems over to the Lord of the Universe?  Too busy to cast all your anxiety on Him?

Another hallmark of many leaders: we’re obsessed with time management and productivity.  More time equals more accomplished.  Now the question.  Which is a better use of your precious time: complaining or praying?

Recently I realized I was spending more time complaining than praying.  What kind of sense does that make?  So I switched it up, and it’s made all the difference in the world.

Leaders, we’re wasting valuable time.  Stop complaining.  Start praying.
