Par<\/strong><\/strong>\u00b7<\/strong>a<\/strong>\u00b7<\/strong>dox<\/strong>\u00a0\u2019per-\u0259-,d\u00e4ks \u00a0n<\/em>\u00a0a seemingly contradictory statement that may nonetheless be true<\/p>\n Mark 10:42-45<\/strong><\/p>\n Jesus called them together and said, \u201cYou know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.\u00a0\u00a0Not so with you.<\/strong>\u00a0Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.\u00a0\u00a0For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a dog-eat-dog world out there. \u00a0You\u2019ve got to look out for number one.\u201d<\/p>\n Not so with you.<\/p>\n \u201cYou may have to step on a few necks to get to the top, but think of how many people you could help with all the influence you\u2019ll have.\u201d<\/p>\n Not so with you.<\/p>\n \u201cHow you treat people is important, but not the most important thing. \u00a0There\u2019s nothing wrong with a benevolent dictator.\u201d<\/p>\n Not so with you.<\/p>\n Jesus asks us to be servants\u00a0who lead, not just leaders\u00a0who serve.<\/p>\n \u201cThe leader who wants to do only big things for God reveals the
