person<\/p>\n<p><strong>P<strong>ar<\/strong><\/strong><strong>\u00b7<\/strong><strong>a<\/strong><strong>\u00b7<\/strong><strong>dox<\/strong> \u2019per-\u0259-,d\u00e4ks  <em>n<\/em> a seemingly contradictory statement that may nonetheless be true<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark 10:42-45<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Jesus called them together and said, \u201cYou know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. <span style=\"font-size:xx-small;\"><span style=\"line-height:10px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><strong>Not so with you.<\/strong> Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. <span style=\"font-size:xx-small;\"><span style=\"line-height:10px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span>For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a dog-eat-dog world out there. \u00a0You\u2019ve got to look out for number one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not so with you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou may have to step on a few necks to get to the top, but think of how many people you could help with all the influence you\u2019ll have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not so with you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow you treat people is important, but not the most important thing. \u00a0There\u2019s such a thing as a benevolent dictator, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not so with you.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus asks us to be servants\u00a0who lead, not just leaders\u00a0who
